That's exactly how it should be. Otherwise, in my mind, it becomes stupid and senseless.
The thing most anti-hunters don't understand is that hunting helps with population control of the deer. The wildlife reserves keep a close watch on the population and adjust deer season as needed. Without population control the deer can become too prolific and they can't find food as easily. They are also more prone to carry disease.

I am no hunter - way too squeamish, I pass out at the sight of my own blood - but I come from a long line of hunters. They are respectful of what they kill and try to use everything they possibly can.
